Doctor Who reigned supreme at the Bafta’s TV Awards in London on Monday. The BBC drama series won three awards; Best Drama Series, Pioneer Audience Award and the Dennis Potter Award for outstanding TV writing.

Well hold on to your sonic screwdrives dear fans of the Doctor a scandle is afoot. An article in Private Eye claims that Dr Who was only created a Time Lord after making a loan to the Labour Party.

According to the Eye a disgruntled Dalek has spilt the beans saying: ''Dr Who lent the Prime Minister his Tardis so that Tony could go back in time and regenerate himself by turning himself into Mrs Thatcher.''

A spokesman for the Time Lord issued a statement saying ''the details of the loan are unavailable since it was all a very long time in the future.''
