A Quote
''Historians will one day look back and think it is a curious folly that just as the Soviet Union was forced to recognise reality by disposing power to its separate states and by limiting the powers of its central government, some people in Europe were trying to create a new artificial state by taking powers from national states and concentrating them at the centre''.
The Rt. Hon. Baroness Thatcher - Speech 1994.
An example EU of centralist control is 'The Treaty Establishing a Constitution for Europe'.
I opened a debate recently at Edinburgh University with the comments:
'' The EU Constitution is not like any previous TU Treaty. It is the blue print not of a Supranational Europe, nor even of a Federal States of Europe but of a Centralised State of Europe.'' ( 'Sovereignty' December 2004)
