Yesterday the Prime Minister put off the announcment of the General Election date following the death of Pope John Paul II.
The Prime Minister had been expected to go to Buckingham Palce yesterday to ask the Queen to disolve Parliament which would signal the start of the election race. Blair is expected today to seek a diolution today, the Polling day is expected to be 5 May.
