Gas costs too much

British families pay an extra £186.60 a year on their gas bills - thanks to out-dated monopolies in other European Union countries.
.
A report published today and reported in the Sun Newspaper says prices are kept sky-high because lazy nations particularly France refuse to allow competition in gas supply. That means gas users in Britain £10billion a year more than they should.
.
Domestic users fork out £3.9billion - an extra £186.60 a year, whilst the Business community is paying a total of £2.7billion each year more than they should be.
.
It is estimated that British Power Generation firms are currently loseing £3.4billion per aannum.
.
The report suggests that other EU countries should follow Britain's lead - where a host of companies such as Powergen now compete aggressively with British Gas.
