Britain's oldest person died this week at the age of 113. Born on 24th May 1892 in Southern India, Lucy d'Abreu passed away at a nursing home in Sterling, Scotland on Wednesday.

The great great grandmother lived through the reigns of five British monarchs, two world wars and the turn of two centuries. She attributed her long life to her ''customary sundowner of brandy and dry ginger ale.''
