Jerusalem in jeopardy

Apparently, singing Jerusalem may be banned in next summer's Test Cricket matches against Pakistan, because it might offend Muslims.
.
No, we are not making it up! The England and Wales Cricket Board communications director, Colin Gibson, had this to say: "We will seek the appropriate advice as we do not want to take any action that might cause offence."
.
Pathetic! Where does offending the British come, Mr Gibson , on your big Politically Correct agenda?
.
How about locating your backbone? This a dangerous path to tread - why not ban the British supporters, in case their mere presence offends the opposing fans? Let's ban Freddie Flintoff, surely if he takes too many wickets, that could be offensive to some poor sensitive souls.
.
Please, a little bit of common sense here. When the Kiwis give up their pre-match Maori Haka, on grounds of political correctness, then and only then should we perhaps possibly maybe discuss the singing of Jerusalem at the start of international cricket matches, not that we would agree to its banning - no way !
.
Since when did encouraging one's national team playing one's national game become offensive? The answer of course is when common sense died from multiple wounds.
.

Cricket crowds, who will sit in stupefied silence, if the cricketing clowns get their way.

Interesting since earlier today I read an article in the ex-Torygraph castigating the ECB and parts of the MCC for the television "free to view" shambles. I always maintained that things were not as they should be and the piece seems to back that up mentioning an off shore account.
